General Questions

For chemical peels and laser treatments, you must wait six weeks following the treatment before booking brow or lip PMU.

For Botox and filler, you must wait two weeks following the procedure before booking brow PMU, and four weeks for lip PMU.

Since this technique uses 1 singular needle, it is minimally invasive. This means that there is barely any bleeding or trauma that's caused to the skin. The feeling is often described as a "light scratch”. The majority of our clients rate the pain level at a 1-3 out of 10.

Short answer: yes and no.

Primary numbing alters the texture of the skin due to the product absorption. This can cause the needle to create excess trauma to the skin. Because of this, we do not use primary numbing for the first pass to create the least amount of trauma possible. During the second and third passes, we use secondary numbing to keep the client comfortable and pain-free throughout the rest of the procedure.

Normally, touch-ups are required for most permanent makeup services but with this technique + our beliefs, a touch up may not be needed. This technique produces incredible healed results in most skin types. Permanent makeup can become unnatural-looking when too much pigment has been deposited into the skin. That is why we believe, if your brows healed beautifully in the skin after the first session, there is no need to put more pigment into the skin! If there are any areas that healed patchy or if you would like the strokes to be darker overall, then we recommend scheduling a touch up. Oily skin types and clients with previous permanent makeup will most likely need a touch up session.

Yes! Depending on your previous permanent makeup saturation, we may need to start fresh by removing the previous pigment. If the previous pigment has faded enough, we may be able to work over them. Our number 1 goal is to create NATURAL looking healed results for each client. If your previous permanent makeup is very saturated (looks like a tattoo instead of flesh toned skin) or if the pigment has turned blue/gray or any other funky color, it is not possible to create a natural looking result. In those cases, we highly recommend magnetic tattoo removal to pull the pigment out of the skin so we can start fresh!

If you have previous PMU and need some guidance on what your next step should be, email us a picture of your brows to support@beauttega.co and we will recommend the best plan for you!

We cannot work on any clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding to avoid any complications, risks, or infection that could result from the procedure. We recommend waiting 3-4 months after you have finished breastfeeding before getting your brows done. This will allow time for your body to regulate it's hormones to achieve the best results possible. We promise it will be worth the wait!

It is crucial that you follow all pre-care and aftercare instructions. If pre-care isn't followed, we will not be able to work on your brows. If aftercare isn't followed, you will not have satisfactory healed results. Please look at the "PRE/AFTER CARE" tab at the top of the website.

Yes! Lip filler and lip blush are friends and work beautifully together! However, you will need to wait 8 weeks before or after getting lip filler to get lip blushing.

Typically, lip blushing can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. It varies due to skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for them post-procedure. Annual touchups are recommended to keep color fresh. The pigment can be affected by using anti-aging, exfoliating, or acne skin care products around the area, unprotected UV exposure, and improper aftercare.

The appointment typically takes 2 to 3-1/2 hours from start to finish. It includes a consultation, mapping, numbing, color choice, and tattooing. We use a topical numbing cream to pre-numb the area, then continue to apply a numbing product throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable and numb!

Yes! We will work together to find the perfect shade for your natural lips and skin tone. Shades can be fully customized. Keep in mind that lip blush is typically a two-step process to see the desired color results.

The area may be slightly swollen for a day or two, which is typical for the lip area.

They will be vibrant for the first three days and begin settling in, softening, and turning very natural.

After healing, the color will be softer and lighten up anywhere from 10-30%. Over time, the color will continue to lighten and fade.

An aftercare kit will be provided with everything you need and instructions to take care of your lips. Healing time is relatively quick, and peeling will start around 3-5 days after.

Be sure to avoid spicy foods, swimming, sauna, direct sunlight, and any makeup products besides healing balm for the lips.

If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend calling your doctor or a walk-in and getting a prescription for anti-viral medication such as Valtrex for preventative measures!

This service uses a solution to manipulate the brow hairs and position them into your desired look. This technique is most commonly used to create a “fluffy” brow look.

The air lamination results last around 6–8 weeks.

The appointment time is one hour.

This lamination technique leaves an air pocket underneath the brow hairs while the lamination process develops. The most common lamination technique uses a cling film that presses the brows down on the skin while the product develops; this causes a kink in the hairs during the grow-out process. We want to achieve the most natural-looking lamination that stays seamless and healthy throughout the next eight weeks of the hair growth process.

The lamination products that we use are TGA-FREE. This means no thioglycolic acid or its derivatives, the main ingredients commonly used for hair perms. Thioglycolic acid can cause the brow hairs to become over-processed, which can cause them to become dry, brittle, and wavy during the healing process. It is important to us to maintain the health and integrity of all of our client's natural brow hairs.

Yes. This technique includes a brow tint; however, if the client is looking for a very natural lamination result, the tint application is optional.

We create a custom brow map using the same mapping technique that we use for permanent makeup. We double-check the symmetry in an app to ensure the shape is perfect for each client before applying the stain. After the staining process is complete, the artist trims and removes any excess hairs around the shape and grooms the hairs to perfection.

The hybrid dye leaves a stain on the skin for up to ten days and on the brow hairs for 4-6 weeks.

The appointment time is blocked out for one hour.

Yes! This service complements permanent makeup beautifully. The stain enhances the tone of the pigment and pulls the permanent makeup and brow hairs together. Pro Tip: Book a shape and stain appointment before you go on vacation to keep your brows looking beautiful, makeup-free!

This process stains the skin and the eyebrow hairs, creating a more defined, filled-in look. Since the hybrid dye stains the skin instead of just the brow hairs, this may be a better option for clients with naturally sparse brows looking to create a longer-lasting result.

The hybrid dye stain can look darker on the first day; however, this is an essential step of the process as the stain continues to oxidize on the skin and settle into its finished shade. The stain will gradually fade as soon as the brows are wet.

-Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area for 24 hours.
-Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, using sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for 24 hours.
-Avoid exfoliating and using anti-aging products around the brow area for at least two to three days before and post-treatment.
-Avoid sunless tanning products on the face for two to three days on either side of the treatment.
-Avoid over-touching the brow area after treatment. Touching the brows with fingers can lead to oils entering open pores, which may clog them.

This process tints only the eyebrow hairs themselves, resulting in a natural-looking brow enhancement. This is a perfect service for clients who have naturally full brows and want to deepen the tone of their natural hair for a subtle pop.

This technique uses magnetic, non-invasive needles that glide back and forth on the top layer of the epidermis. This deeply exfoliates the epidermis and scratches the skin enough to allow the solution to penetrate the skin without cutting it. The magnetic ink extractor solution will travel to the dermis using ultrasonic vibrations and attract the pigment. Once the tattoo removal serum is inside the dermis, it attaches to the pigment inside the skin, and the non-invasive magnetic needles are then used to extract the pigment to the skin's surface!

Magnetic removal is best suited for non-gray-looking permanent makeup that has faded at least eighty percent. Most of the time, when permanent makeup is oversaturated, the undertone of the pigment is gray. It appears gray because of the carbon black molecule inside of the pigment. Carbon black has the smallest molecular weight of any other molecule inside pigment. Since the carbon molecule is so tiny, it can easily travel into deeper dermis layers. We have found that, unfortunately, the magnetic removal needles cannot penetrate deep enough into the dermis to remove the gray tone from the skin. However, virtually all carbon black is removed following the first laser removal session.

Magnetic removal truly shines in cases where the client has pink, orange, green, yellow, or salmon-colored previous permanent makeup, as well as scar tissue from past microblading sessions. Magnetic removal removes pigment and deeply massages scar tissue to promote blood flow and the regeneration of new skin. We have seen a miraculous improvement in painful scar tissue from just one session of magnetic pmu removal.

Like every removal technique, multiple sessions are usually required to achieve the desired result. This answer can vary depending on the saturation, depth of previous PMU, age, and the possible scar tissue of your previous permanent makeup. On average, 4-7 sessions are required to fully remove the pigment from the skin. Yes, removal is a process, but it’s worth it if you want to preserve the integrity of your skin, start fresh, and have natural and timeless-looking brows!

The session typically takes around 30 minutes to an hour on average. However, it could take longer if the client has a lot of scar tissue from previous microblading or previous laser/saline/acid removal. Previous scar tissue holds stagnant blood clots that the technician will extract during the procedure to allow for new blood flow to promote healing.

You will experience some pain/burning throughout the procedure.

No, you cannot wear makeup/sunscreen for at least ten days after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.

Your brows will be sore for the first few days. They will also be dark/red, and you may have lymph production. You will experience light scabbing/flaking during the first week. The healing time between sessions is about 3-4 weeks. It is best to wait 4-8 weeks after removal to allow the skin to fully recover before getting permanent makeup done.
